The Nursery School is a non-profit organization jointly administered by a committee of volunteer parents and the staff. Two teachers hold degrees in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. The director is responsible for most of the school's activities, while the Parents' Committee serves primarily as an advisory board. Two special functions of the Parent Board are the hiring of teachers and control of salaries and school expenses. The school is not a true cooperative since the parents are not required to assist in the class-room on a regular basis. The parents are still a valuable resource to the school in their willingness to assume administrative duties or special projects, and in their interest and support in the school's program.
