The mission of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren is to be an alive, invigorating presence of Jesus Christ. We listen to Jesus, follow Him, and respond to His challenge. This fundamental tenet of our Brethren heritage is the basis for our actions, including service to others in our church, our community, our nation, and our world. Within our church we listen to each other as we listen to God, understanding that our diversity is an asset, a strength, and a blessing which can be used to the glory of God and for the good of all. Avenues need to be provided by the church for the expression of individual interests within the framework of the congregation, emphasizing peacemaking, evangelism, ecological service, visitation, and other special areas, with participation by all encouraged. With God's help we will show our Christianity through our lives--caring for one another, helping those in need wherever they may be, striving for simplicity and good stewardship, ever conscious of God's Spirit present with us.
