The R. J. Hendley Christian Community School, non-profit inter-denominational Christian School, opened its doors to children as Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Tutorial Program. Thus, the Tutorial Program of volunteer administrators was a resounding success from its very inception. In 1993, the school officially became a private school. The success of that tutorial program fanned the desire of Elder R. J. Hendley, Jr. and the congregation of Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church to establish a permanent Christian School, R.J. Hendley Christian Community School.
