The Envisioning Statement? began with a workshop held on May 27, 2006, led by Susan Roberts, our DCO. Several church leaders gathered together to review information on a demographic study on our area, share our thoughts on mission and ministry for the future, and receive input and ideas. Pastor Erickson shared a number of these ideas in the State of the Congregation? address at the June 2006 Voters' assembly, and used the 3 headings that appears in this document: Care of Souls, Care of the Lost, Care of Needs. In subsequent meetings between Pastor Erickson and Susan Roberts, the Envisioning Statement? was developed and readied for review and input from church leaders. It was included in the Officer/Board Member training event for study and discussion (Aug. 5, 2006). It is our goal to have a final document ready for review and hopefully adoption at the September ˜06 Voters meeting.
